An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde
Heckington Players 2022 September production will be a live radio play by Oscar Wilde.
London, 1895. The London of George Bernard Shaw and Harry Houdini; of horse-drawn hansom cabs and top hats at dawn; and the natural habitat of those strange, otherworldly creatures that inhabit what was known as high society. Sir Robert Chiltern is a respected government official and a loving husband. His friend, Lord Arthur Goring, is a notorious dandy who lives a life of casual lounging, witty banter, and meaningless flirtations. But when an old acquaintance, Mrs. Cheveley, arrives in London to stir up political and romantic trouble, she threatens to upset this Edwardian apple cart in more ways than one…
Broadcast live on Heckington Living Radio in front of a live studio audience, this is a first for HLR and Heckington Players – few radio stations, outside the BBC, have accomplished this feat, and we cannot wait to bring Oscar Wilde to the airwaves!
