Covid-19 – UPDATE

This page will display any information or actions the Heckington Players ADS Committee will take or have taken in response to the outbreak…

An update from Heckington Players ADS Committee. Wednesday 13th May 2020.

Following on from our statement on 17th March 2020 we have continued to monitor the situation as it has developed.

Heckington Players want to continue to produce fun, interesting and exciting live performances of plays and pantomimes for our loyal audience. However, we can all appreciate this is very difficult to do at this current time. With the ongoing rules around social distancing here to stay, for a considerable time yet, it will be difficult to rehearse and perform live theatre at Heckington Village Hall in a safe way.

We are sad to announce that we will not be performing any productions for the remainder of 2020. This includes our rescheduled performances of Ladies’ Day (due to take place in September) which will now be cancelled. This means there will be no meetings and performances of the Heckington Players Youth Theatre in 2020 also.

Ladies’ Day – refunds

For those that have booked tickets for Ladies Day the team will be working with our box office provider Ticket Source, to automatically refund your ticket money as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding your refund please email us at bookings@heckingtonplayers.co.uk.

Patrons and Members

To all our Heckington Players adult and Youth Theatre members and patrons, the committee have taken the decision to carry over your membership fees to 2021/22 season.

Pantomime 2021

It is too early to say if this will affect our annual pantomime, due to be performed in January 2021. We will issue a further update in September with more details.

The future

But there is some good news, we are pleased to announce that Heckington Players will be going ‘virtual’ for the rest of 2020!

The group will be bringing you a series of plays and pantomimes via Facebook and through our friends at Heckington Living Community Radio.  Please continue to check your emails and social media for further information about these exciting virtual performances.

Our main priority has and always will be the health and safety of our performers, audience, and wider community, we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk. Please look after yourselves, follow the Government’s guidance and most importantly stay safe.

Thank you for your patience and continued support of Heckington Players. We look forward to bringing you some live theatre again as soon as it is practical and safe to do so in 2021.

Heckington Players statement 17th March 2020.
It is with huge sadness that, following the Government’s latest advice issued on Monday, to “avoid social venues” which includes theatres, we have made the decision to postpone our production of Ladies’ Day until September. We will also be stopping rehearsals and meetings of the Heckington Players Youth Theatre until further notice too.

Although an outright ban on productions or social gatherings has not currently been declared the advice is very clear. Our main priority has and always will be the health and safety of our performers, audience and wider community, and we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Ladies’ Day: We will contact everyone who has already purchased tickets via email or telephone and give you the option of transferring tickets to the September dates or offer a full refund. The proposed new performance dates are: Thursday 24th, Friday 25th and Saturday 26th September 2020.

Heckington Players Youth Theatre: We will carry over any credit for meetings you have already paid for this term to the next term (when we are able to resume the youth theatre meetings). We will send out further information via email to all parents as and when we have updates.
In the meantime please continue to check your emails and social media for further information.

If you have any questions, please contact us at askus@heckingtonplayers.co.uk or contact us via social media.
Thank you for your patience and continued support of Heckington Players, please look after yourself during this difficult time.

14/03/2020

As you are all aware Heckington Players are currently in rehearsals for our fantastic production of Ladies’ Day in May.

We are continuing to closely monitor advice from the UK Government and Public Health England and as it stands at the moment we are still planning for the production to go ahead in May. The advice is ever changing as the Covid-19 situation develops and it is likely that there will be further restrictions on public gatherings and performances. We will of course keep you updated via all our normal channels.

In the meantime please continue to book your tickets and support local theatre. In the event we have to cancel or postpone we can issue refunds immediately via the Ticket Source platform.

Our main priority will always be the health and safety of our performers, audience members and wider community, and we do not want to put anyone at unnecessary risk.

We all have a responsibility to protect the vulnerable and slow the spread of the virus to help our NHS cope with the pressures COVID-19 will inevitably cause.

Everyone at Heckington Players send our very best wishes to all who are being affected by this virus.
