Important Announcement: Heckington Players’ Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime 2022

The committee has taken the difficult decision to postpone the staging of this year’s annual pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, which was due to take place between 21st and 30th January 2022 at Heckington Village Hall. The new proposed performance dates for the pantomime will now be in 2023:

Friday 20th January 2023 7:30pm

Saturday 21st January 2023 2:00pm and 7:30pm

Sunday 22nd January 2023 2:00pm

Friday 27th January 2023 7:30pm

Saturday 28th January 2023 2:00pm and 7:30pm

Sunday 29th January 2023 2:00pm

As many of you will have seen, the requirement to isolate for 7 days following a positive PCR test has had a huge impact on sports teams and other productions (amateur and professional) across the UK. We feel that with the growing numbers of people testing positive for the new variant, the continued uncertainty around future restrictions and rules at the end of January, and the strong likelihood of a significant proportion of the adult and youth cast, backstage and front of house team having to self-isolate (leading to inevitable cancellations of shows) would make this production impossible to deliver this January.  

We know that you will be as upset as we are, that this annual event can’t take place for another year. We so wanted to bring this fabulous show to the village hall after such a long time away, the whole production team has worked so hard on making this pantomime the best ever.  

For those of you who have already purchased tickets for the performances, we will be in touch to discuss refunds or transferring of tickets over the coming weeks. Please bear with us as we organise this for you.   

Our audiences are the reason Heckington Players exist and we want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, patience and love – we look forward to being able to perform Jack and the Beanstalk for you next January! In the meantime, we will be constantly monitoring the current situation and any changes to rules and regulations, and Heckington Players hope to be able to bring some live theatre back to the village in 2022.
